Quality ingredients for healthy living and any adventure

At Summit & Seed, we are family-owned and operated trying to provide the highest quality products available. After living nomadically for three years with our two toddlers, we struggled to find affordable access to quality, let alone raw, food. While traveling throughout the country, we slowly gained more of an appreciation for the small local family farms doing it right and keeping it simple. We have had the privilege to stay with a few of them for a couple days and see how their farms are set up. We gained knowledge of what works and what doesn’t, and got to build meaningful relationships along the way. Now that we have been given the opportunity to finally have our own farm, we are excited and eager to share these products with you!

Per Colorados laws, the direct sale of raw milk is prohibited. In this herd share you are not purchasing milk, you are buying a partial ownership of our herd. The milk is what you rightfully own as a product of your herd you purchased. Your investment goes toward the costs of boarding, maintenance, and daily labor of up-keeping our animals. You own part of the herd, and are legally allowed to drink milk from your own animals.
Our goats are given high quality timothy hay, alfalfa, along with black oil sunflower seeds when milking as a nice treat. We also keep quality minerals out for free choice.
The taste of goat milk will directly reflect the health of the animal it was milked from. Our girls are never fed grains or fillers, and are very well taken care of to ensure the best taste possible, as well as proper health for our animals. You will find with our milk it has a smooth creamy taste, comparable to whole bovine milk.
The buy in is to show your commitment to our farm, and will only be charged once upon your initial purchase with us. This is due with your first monthly payment when you sign our contract prior to receiving your first pickup. The funds go towards the cost of milk jars/lables, and replacement jars. If you decide to alternate monthly, or take a short break from us, you will not be re charged as you already have a contract on file.
We are currently partnering with Hatch & Gather Colorado Springs for pickup. If the times/days available at the store do not work for your schedule you can schedule a date/time to pickup from our farm near Mt.Cheyenne State Park.
The day you pickup will be co-ordinated together upon signup up, to ensure you have the freshest milk possible.
Absolutely!! We would love to meet all our customers, and have them meet their new herd they’re investing in. We have two toddlers, and our animals are very familiar with people, and honestly love the attention.
Like cows, goats are ruminants, meaning their digestive systems are specifically designed to ferment fibrous roughage like brush, weeds, and hay. Introducing grain can disrupt the delicate PH balance of the rumen, leading to several various health conditions. For most goats a diet focused on high-quality forage and appropriate minerals is the best way to support long-term health, milk production and taste.
We love to hear from you about what you're cooking and how you're doing. Email or call/text us, and we will get back to you soon.
